SOILCO Completes Acquisition of The Good Dirt Company
SOILCO Pty Ltd, a leading Australian organics recycling company, is pleased to announce it has successfully acquired The Good Dirt Company, a regional organics processor in South-West Victoria. The acquisition marks SOILCO’s entry into the Victorian market, aligning with the company’s mission to manage state-of-the-art resource recovery facilities that meet the soil improvement needs of Australian communities.
The Lethbridge site is located 100km west of Melbourne in the Golden Plains Shire of Victoria and follows SOILCO’s successful acquisition of Corkhill Bros in Canberra and Martins Fertilizers in Yass. The Victorian business has historically received and composted green waste and agricultural manures and distributed finished products to the region’s farming community for soil improvement projects.

The Good Dirt Company’s EPA licensed composting facility and adjacent farming operations are being integrated into the broader business. The facility is currently transitioning from The Good Dirt Company to SOILCO’s Lethbridge Compost Manufacturing Facility. SOILCO is on track to upgrade and expand the CMF, which is SOILCO’s seventh licensed composting facility in Australia.
Commenting on development underway and plans for the site, Christopher Malan, Chief Operating Officer said: “We have immediately begun upgrading the CMF to improve its capabilities and environmental performance. We are delighted by the early interest and commitments we have received from third parties to supply feedstocks to our new facility. We are looking forward to assisting established organics recycling businesses in Victoria manage spring-time volumes in the coming months.”
