Renworx is a specialist sports turf contractor located on the south east coast of NSW. They have recently commenced the resurfacing and reconstruction of 3 ovals for the Lake Macquarie City Council.
The project for Lake Macquarie is a compost trial on various sporting ovals that includes the supply, spread and incorporation of Soilco’s Certified GO Compost Premium (8mm) onto existing turfed surfaces.
The incorporation is done with a Blecavator Stone Burier to a depth of 100mm. This brings soil to the surface and mixes it with the compost while burying any stone and rock. On two ovals Keith Barry No 2, Toronto and Balcomb Field, Dudley, the surface Is then consolidated with a level bar and maintained for 8 weeks so that the existing turfed surface will grow through and fully recover.
Lydon Field in Dudley involves a full reconstruction and incorporation of 240m3 of 8mm compost and returfing with a special sandy profile Santa Ana Couch Grass turf.
