Environment Protection Licences

SOILCO operates its facilities in a manner that ensures all operations are undertaken in accordance with the Environment Protection Licence (EPL) obtained under the provisions of the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997. These licences stipulate the operating limits and conditions that relate to pollution prevention and monitoring, and cleaner production through recycling and reuse and the implementation of best practice.

Pollution Incident Response Management Plans

Pollution Incident Response Plans (PIRMP) have been developed by SOILCO in accordance with the requirements of Part 5.7A of the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997. The PIRMPs set out the response protocols adopted by SOILCO to a potential pollution incident through identification of any potential hazards and actions to be taken to prevent environmental harm, including details of all communication required in the event of an incident.

Environmental Monitoring Data

Under Section 66(6) of the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997, holders of Environment Protection Licences must publish or make monitoring data available to members of the public. The Licences held by SOILCO require that monitoring be undertaken of a range of environmental factors, including noise, groundwater and surface water.
